NETWORK MARKETING IS A SHIP BUILDING BUSINESS

Lets just hope that ship you are building or sailing on is not another industry Titanic  SKILLS = $$$$ PART IV

Network marketing is a shipbuilding business:

(relationship, friendship, partnership, mentor-ship, apprenticeship, hardship, craftsmanship, salesmanship, stewardship, entrepreneurship, leadership, sponsorship, and membership)

These are the “ships” that revolve primarily around the interactions between people.

Website building is not even in the top 10 priorities of this business.

Why? Because virtually every failing network marketer in the industry has at least 1 company website that does not generate any sales.

My sponsor has earned over $70 million in this business over the last 30 years.

He did it without a website. All of the money that I’ve made in this business has also pretty much come from just having conversations and listening to people.

I use a website now, but:

I don’t think it’s the most critical component of anyone’s success in this type of business if you are recruiting for the purpose of creating a team to take advantage of leverage the kind of which only Network Marketing can provide.

Why? Because again, people who use the exact same websites that I use may or may not become wildly successful or even profitable.

If you appeal to the lowest common denominator, that’s exactly what you will get:

The lowest common denominator.

Do you remember the movie “Field of Dreams”, with Kevin Costner?

If you build it, THEY will come!

I think far too many network marketers must Believe that all they have to do is build a website or have a website and people will just flock to it and order overpriced products…

THEN…

All you have to do is promote the website.

I’m here to tell you even If you (or your company) builds it they won’t come.

Who do you expect to be ordering your product 40 years from now at the current prices? Are you willing to power through the inevitable attrition of people who might try your product from a website?

I recently purchased a one and a half ounce stick of deodorant from a popular network marketing company as a favor to one of my customers who gave me $20 to “cover the cost”, just so they could earn a rank.

Do you know how much that little stick of deodorant actually cost?

$23.50!

$14 plus $ 9.50 shipping!

The $20 didn’t even cover the total cost.

In 29 years I’ve only had 1 of those random people with whom I have never spoken enroll as a customer on my website. I checked my back office today, she has ordered about $34,000 worth of products since Sept. 2002.

What is the point? Websites don’t qualify people for this business or to be customers…

That is YOUR JOB!

More coming in part V

If there is something I can help you with to find out and learn what has taken me over 30 years and many failures, send me a connection request and let’s have a business conversation.

Anyone making promises that you will succeed in this business, should raise an automatic red flag but…

I can promise someone that if they give me 4 hours a week they will learn my system.

From there, it’s not that difficult [to build a profitable business], because I have eliminated the things that cause people to quit in this industry.

If there was a business designed like a MacDonald’s franchise, without the high price-tag, that would also reward you a passive income, could you see yourself as an entrepreneur? The secret is in the system (not individual personalities).
